Greetings Earthlings! Welcome to my blog. This is my first post and I am really looking forward to diving deeper into this project. I am going to try to post something every Sunday, so there will always be new content. Way back in the "before times" I had a blog on Blogger, you know, before Instagram and all that. I doubt anyone looked at it but it was kind of a fun thing to do, and at that time, it served its purpose .
Why have I decided to start a blog again after all these years? It's kind of like an old-timey thing that no one does anymore, right?
Firstly....as I am sure a lot of you have noticed things have begun changing in the social media world. For a long time I used Instagram primarily as my personal blog, and a place to connect with other artists. It acted as an online gallery of images AND it was a place where I could tell my weird little stories. It still is that place, but with the recent move toward video, I feel that my work is getting lost, and I really don't want to spend my free time being bombarded with ads and short-attention-span video suggestions. I barely see any of my art-friend's posts any more and it's kind of a drag. I am still going to post on Instagram but I am not going to hang out there as much as I used to.
Moving forward: the medium of video doesn't suit me or what I do. I am super awkward in front of a camera, and I have a lousy speaking voice. I curse and say the word, like, too much. Also, I am not all that interested in recording videos and spending my time that way. I would much rather be painting and writing.
What to expect from this blog:
Inspiration posts (and by that, I mean things that inspire me...magick, aliens, monsters, ghost stories, etc.)
New paintings with their stories
More about the stories and characters and stuff like that in general
Sketchbook stuff
Art museum visits
Random observations about my recent move to the Midwest
Maybe even some personal stuff, like... I'm nearly 5 years sober, I'm vegan, I'm a wiccan, I love guitar, fantasy novels, yoga, and I can't spell.
Finally, I might post things about my pets.
