  • The “Summoner and Scribe” series tells the story of Benjerman Mortimer, a melancholy young lad who gives up on his dream of being an author of children’s tragedies to take a good-paying but unsatisfying job as a scribe for a Master Occultist…who specializes in the summoning of demons. Benj desperately wants to quit his new job, but he is in too deep. In this painting, we see Master Occultist Erie Oldfather selling Benj’s most recently penned grimoire to Anya the Onion Witch and her associates: Matilda, the tortured ghost of a childhood friend, and the cannibal, Bloodmouth Scarman (who I really enjoyed painting). Also, in the story, there is a subtle romantic flirtation between Erie Oldfather and Anya the Onion Witch. I feel they have a lot in common: they are both practitioners of the magickal arts, they each own a monochromatic wardrobe, and they are both evil.

  • Despite the tragic tale, this painting was made with love and took roughly 70 hours. (Good thing I like painting, haha.)

  • Includes a certificate of authenticity.

  • For shipping, I always construct my own box and ship it insured through UPS. I typically ship paintings out on Thursdays.
